From behind his camera, Sandesh Kadur sees the world from a very different angle. Through the use of images both still and video, pilule Sandesh exposes the need for conservation and encourages protection of the world’s biodiversity. His photographs have been published widely in books and magazines while his documentaries with subjects ranging from king cobras to clouded leopards have been aired worldwide on the BBC, Discovery, and National Geographic networks. Over the years, Sandesh’s work has garnered many top awards including the CIWEM Environmental Photographer of the Year, Nature’s Best Award, International Conservation Photographer Award, as well as twice being nominated for a Green Oscar at Wildscreen.
In 2013 Sandesh was recognized by National Geographic Society as an Emerging Explorer and also received the North American Nature Photographers (NANPA) Vision Award in recognition of early career excellence and continuation of vision and inspiration to others in nature photography, conservation, and education.
Images, Sandesh feels, have the power to move people in a way nothing else can, and it is this power he hopes to harness through his work and inspire his audience to protect and appreciate what remains of the wilderness. A few years ago he founded Felis Creations – a media and visual arts company that focuses on creating content that inspires conservation. Sandesh is an Associate Fellow of the International League of Conservation Photographers.

March 26th – 31st 2014
Join wildlife photographer, see
filmmaker & author Sandesh Kadur on an expedition into two of India’s most incredible wilderness areas – Kaziranga National Park and Gibbon Wildlife Sanctuary. This journey takes you to Assam – a state known more for its tea than for its spectacular wildlife! Bordered by the Brahmaputra River to its north and flanked by the Karbi-Anglong Hills to the south is a sea of grassland. This is Kaziranga – India’s Serengeti – a unique floodplain ecosystem teeming with big animals.

Very few places in Asia match the diversity and abundance of wildlife as one may see in parts of Africa. Kaziranga, more about
on the banks of the Brahmaputra in Assam, comes close. This is one of the oldest nature reserves in India, established as a protected area in 1904. Although the park is famous for supporting the world’s largest remaining population of Greater One-horned Rhinoceros, it is also home to substantial populations of Asian Elephant, Wild Buffalo, Swamp Deer and the Royal Bengal Tiger.
A little further east is Gibbon Wildlife Sanctuary – a primate paradise that is home to seven species of primates. We’ll try our luck to spot and capture all seven species. However, our primary target will be, India’s only ape-the Western Hoolock Gibbon. Other species on the list to look out for will be the even more rare Stump-tailedMacaque, and relatively common species like the Pig-tailed Macaque and the Capped Langur –all listed as either Endangered or Vulnerable on the IUCN Redlist.

Hi Sandesh,
My husband Mike and I met you on the National Geographic trip on the Wildlife of the World.
We are now wait listed for the NatGeo Wildlife Safari with you in October and hope that we have a chance to make the trip. I saw that you have photography courses but we also missed these. Do you have any future classes scheduled for any of your travels. You were one of the highlights of the trip, your stunning videos and your passion for nature. 🙂
Thank you and we hope to see you in India!
